Pennsylvania Reptiles and Amphibians Booklet
Vintage Pennsylvania Fish Commission Reptiles & Amphibians Book Booklet 3rd Edition 6th Printing
Overall good condition with light wear around edges. Small fold/tear on back cover
The purpose of this pamphlet is to present the common amphibians and reptiles of Pennsylvania in picture-story form. This printing retains the excellent photographs by Hal H. Harrison, noted outdoor columnist and photographer.
The geographical position of Pennsylvania across the Appalachian Mountains and the presence of three great river systems probably account for the relatively large variety of amphibians in the state—21 species of salamanders and 15 species of frogs have been recorded. Of the reptiles, 14 species of turtles, four species of lizards and 22 species of snakes (only three are poisonous) have been recorded.
